LogicBoxes Linux Shared hosting price increase

As you may be aware, last year cPanel decided to change their pricing model, from per server, to per user.

This should have made an increase of circa 20c to the actual hosting company (less (a lot less) if you had 100s or 1000s of servers.

LogicBoxes have therefore increased their pricing, interestingly rather than say 40c to make 100% profit on the per-user fee, they have decided that 100% on the lower bands (so dollars rather than cents) and near 70% on the higher bands.

From August 14th, the pricing will increase, below you will have a before and after, personally speaking, this is rather shameful, however, the pricing will increase regardless.

Band 1 Add/Renew was $1.89 pm now $3.79 pm

Band 2 Add/Renew was $2.49 pm now $4.48 pm

Band 3 Add/Renew was $2.89 pm now $4.89 pm

Band 4 Add/Renew was $3.89 pm now $5.98 pm

NEO generally makes 40c per month on the hosting.

From the 1st July 2021, the create / renew and transfer cost of a .IO domain name has changed from $49.95 down to $40.00.

This promotion should last until 31st December 2021, BUT, it can be revoked at any time, should this happen, email, platform announcement and blog post will be made.

Verisign Price Increase for .COM gTLD

Verisign has communicated that they will increase the pricing of .the COM gTLD on 1st September 2021 at 0400 UTC.

Therefore NEO will be increasing its pricing of .com on Tuesday 31st August 2021 at 2200 BST.

The pricing will increase by 0.90c across all tiers for aegistration, renewal or transfer.

Restoration will increase to $65.00 which includes a 1 year renewal.

LogicBoxes Planned Platform Maintenance

As part of LogicBoxes endeavour to constantly upgrade their platform, they will be performing constructive maintenance on their Database Servers. During this maintenance, they will be upgrading their Major versions of the Database servers.

Affected Services: 

This update will have a direct impact on the Control Panel and API services. Hence, during the maintenance you may not be able to:

1) Access and manage your orders from the Orderbox Control Panel
2) Purchase orders from the Supersite
3) Access the CSV Reports portal
4) Manage the domain forwarding service from the Domain Forwarding interface
5) Use API service

LB price increases for ccTLDs and nTLDs

These changes will go live on Saturday 28th August at 1900 BST. We were assured by LogicBoxes that the changes made on the 5th August (which was notified to the reseller base) were the only ones that affected our account, however, it appears these were “missed” and thus are now being made live.

My apologies for the short notice period on this, but, we found out last night (Wednesday).

LB- Introducing new plans for Linux Reseller Hosting

As you may be aware, cPanel whose control panel is used for the reseller hosting service increased their pricing last year. Logicboxes have now got around to increasing the pricing for all new reseller hosting packages from August 12th. Since the new pricing model resulted in an increased cost for many web hosts, many hosting companies immediately updated their prices and plans to accommodate the new cPanel prices. 

After considering how to best address this change, LB have decided to introduce new prices and plans for all new orders starting 12 August 2020.

All new orders placed on and after 12 August 2020 will be subject to the new prices and plans. Accordingly, existing prices and plans will no longer be available and will be set to “No New Orders” beginning 12 August 2020. Orders made prior to this date will continue to renew based on the existing plan structures until further notice. We will provide nearer the time the new pricing (the link above will work).

Please note that under the new plan, customers will be able to purchase additional cPanel accounts from their control panel.

  • .BZ will increase by $ 7.25 py
  • .EC will increase by $ 3.25 py

.COM.MX is a little more complicated:

  • Add increases by $ 1.25 py
  • Renew and transfer increases by $ 3.75 py

We are excited to announce the launch of .FR on the LB platform today, I had hoped to give a few days notice, but a slot with LB developers came up and we were squeezed into it 🙂

Pricing for this is as follows:

Add / Renew is $ 6.95 per year

A transfer is $6.95 including a 1-year renewal.

Restoration is $ 60.00

You will need to signup for this if you want to sell .FR, login to NEO (https://manage.netearthone.com/reseller) click Settings >> Manage Products and Pricing >> Domain Registration >> Manage TLD’s, here you can select .FR sell, then accept the Terms and conditions, and hit submit, then the same place, instead of Manage TLD’s, click “Manage Prices”.
